Last night on the way home I was stopped at a stop light about 10 min from my home and this woman yells to me from her car and says “Don’t move Miss, you have a cat in your wheel. Don’t go forward” I was confused and looked out my window…just as I did this the cat ran from under my car…the light turned green…and the cat was running across the road (this was a little kitten…no more than 4 months old) The traffic coming from the other way didn’t see what was going on and the poor confused cat got run over….the worst part of it for me was that I heard it happen…the cracking, the splattering…it was HORRIBLE. I screamed and just lost it….i had to pull myself together and get off the road. I pulled around the corner and just wept…I sobbed hysterically. Then I heard another meow. I got out of the car and searched the nearby bushes. I couldn’t bear to have another kitten run onto the busy street. I searched and searched, but I couldn’t find it. Finally I gave up. I couldn’t spend any more time looking for it. I had to go home.
I called My dad and talked to him…but he wasn’t much help. I was still hysterical. I drove the car home in shock and sat outside my house and cried. I had tried calling Joe on my way home, and he called me back while I was crying hysterically. I could barely breathe and I did my best to tell him what was going on. As I was sobbing into the phone I heard the meows again…I heard tiny kitten meows. It was in my car…the other cat was IN my car somewhere….under the hood, in a tire, caught in the muffler…I had no idea where the meows were coming from. I started sobbing again and Joe did his best to understand what was going on. Finally he got me to calm down enough to go get a neighbor for help. he was right, I couldn’t do this on my own. So I got one of the neighbors to help me and we searched for almost an hour.
I went in the house and grabbed some cat treats…my roommate Amanda was inside and I just started sobbing again. She came out to help and between the three of us searching for the cat…she was the one to locate it, under the hood, inside the car, next to the engine. I caught a glimpse of the cat and had to turn and walk away. I didn’t know if the cat was hurt or alive anymore. Nothing, I couldn’t look. The neighbor and Amanda found that the cat was still breathing and it’s eyes were open. It was ok, just stuck. So I went to get the other neighbors who have a baby to see if they had a eye dropper or syringe or something that we could get some water to the cat with. She was dehydrated…we found a syringe and got kitty some water. After about 2-3 hours…Animal control had shown up (Amanda called them while I was in hysterics) and we freed the kitten. It was a tiny orange kitten who was scared to death. I named her Chance…(and her sister who didn’t make it…Faith) Animal control let me pet Chance and then he took her to his car. I asked him what would happen to her and he said they would take her to the shelter and find her a really good home. I thanked him and cleaned up my mess I had made by my car. Didn’t go to bed until almost midnight. I’m exhausted.
This morning, I walked to the bus with Jenna (other roommate) and we missed our bus, as we were waiting I noticed that she had some paint or something on her arm…then I noticed it was on her clothes and I was like WTF. She was like..It’s all over you too! Someone had spray painted the bench we were sitting on and we got oily spray paint all over our clothes. It was on our skin, and our shirts, my jeans…all over the place. I was soooo angry. We had to go home and change and soak our clothes….was late for work. It’s just been one HE!! Of a 12 hours for me. I’m exhausted and I just want to sleep…

OH!! Meggie lu I am so sorry you had to go through all that bad stuff. I sure hope better days are ahead for you. I like the names you gave the little kitty's.
Wow...just wow
Guess it's your turn to be reminded that life isn't easy. It was just not the greatest time in your life for that kind of reminder. You might wanna have a serious conversation with the man upstairs about his timing. I Love you! Sorry I couldn't be there to help.
Wow Megan, that was insane! I like how to top it all off you got paint all over you. At least you had Jenna with you to share in the agony, jeesh!
