What a beautiful thing
Shadows in the sunlight
Crushed by desire for something you don’t own

It’s a beautiful thing
Golden and fragile
Each petal that falls leaves one less that remains.

Pick it apart to find all the pieces
Trying your best to put them back straight
Racking your mind to find all the answers
And you don’t know, no, you just don’t know.

Piece by piece
Strewn about on the table
A life full of goals that you thought you’d achieve.

Once alive and so brave
Now is only a memory
Its time to become what has faded away.

Pick it apart to find all the pieces
Trying your best to put them back straight
Racking your mind to find all the answers
And you don’t know, no, you just don’t know.

Now is the time that you pull it together
No one is ever the man that they seem
The flower that blooms for you won’t last forever
All that’s left is the petals all piled on the floor
And you want more
So much more.

Pick it apart to find all the pieces
Trying your best to put them back straight
Racking your mind to find all the answers
And you don’t know, no, you just don’t know

And you don’t know, no, you just don’t know
And you don’t know, no, you just don’t know

And you don’t know, no, you just don’t know.

(To find someone you love, you gotta be someone you love. To find someone you love, you gotta call your own bluff.)
