Well...the weather is beginning to get nice again. I'm excited about that and i can't wait until i don't have to bundle up to outside anymore.
I'm a little frustrated right now because i have so many papers to write and i just think it's so stupid that teachers feel they need to pile on the papers for us to write. Is this becasue you don't feel like teaching us anything that we can't get out of some stupid reading we're supposed to do for class? Is it because you don't feel like taking an hour of your time to write out a test for us to answer? Is it because you have children at home that you want to spend your time with and don't want to take the time to do outside work so you just assign us a paper to write? Because let's see...if you're excuse is the first i listed, then you need to know that more than half the students in your class didn't read the book in the first place and don't intend to, myself included. You also need to know that reading books doesn't teach students anything because if you find a student that actually read they probably can't tell you what it was they read about because there are way too many other things that they are focusing their time and energy on to really focus in on the reading. So that's a lame excuse. If your excuse is the second one i listed then i think you're lame and you should find a new job if you don't feel like teaching a class things that are important and should be remembered. If your excuse was the third, then let me tell you a little something about what it's like to be a student, in case you forgot. We have school, and on top of that we have at least 5 classes all different classes with different teachers. We spend our days from 8am until 3 or 4 or 5pm going to calss and listening to you talk at us or force us to read these books and articles that mean nothing to us and will be forgotten just as soon as they are read. (or not read at all) Then, most of us have jobs too so that we can afford to come to this school, so that you can get paid to make us read stupid articles and research stupid topics that are meaningless in the long run. So then there's at least 5 or 6 more hours that we spend working...to go even further, some of us have extra curricular activity that we have to take part in to save our sanity. i mean you can't blame us for wanting to have some fun at school can you? well maybe you can. At any rate, we have those three things that usually keep most of us busy until at least 10pm...When we finally get back to our dorms or appartments at night, we have a good four or five hours of homework waiting for us. and do you want to know what the most frustrating thing of it all is? that homework is papers. we have to write papers upon papers uopn papers. And for what? you read them and then disregard them. they don't mean anything to you, they certainly mean nothing to us. so why do we have to write them? Shouldn't school be about learning....now about how many pages of bull crap you can write down on your computer screen?

it just frustrates me. I would rather take a 100 question test and spend like three hours studying facts for it than write a 7-10 page paper on a poet or write a 15-20 page paper on the same poet for another class. writing papers teaches me nothing. learning facts and memorizing them at least gives me something to remember. that's my rant as i look ahead at my week where i have 4 papers due...one that is to be 7-10 pages, another that is to be 15-20, there is a 3-5 pager, and a bunch of questions that i have to answer about a reading that i'm supposed to do. school is lame. don't go. (joking about the not going part) but it is lame.

and lottery tickets are not a lame birthday gift!
