Losing steam and it's only been two weeks

So I'm finding it increasingly more difficult to stick to a diet. I hate working out. I hate eating leafy greens and I despise feeling hungry.  It's so easy to get discouraged when I'm trying to lose weight.  I've been counting calories with an app on my phone, and things are going ok, but I wish I had more time to commit to working out.

I just got a crazy idea that just might work...What if I get up at 4 am, every day...go to the gym, work out for 45 min to an hour and then come home and get in the shower? I'll just have to go to bed very early every night. Maybe this will encourage my husband to get me a DVR or TiVo so I can actually see the shows that are on at night...since I'll be in bed.  I despise spending my time at night running on a treadmill in the gym. Such a waste of time, if you ask me. Maybe this will help me have more energy during the day and sleep better at night. If I do it every morning, then I should be able to get results a lot faster. AND, I can enjoy my evenings with my husband.  Sacrifice sleep for losing weight.

yeah..we'll see how long this lasts.
What types of things motivate you?

From a life long dieter here's what I think about exercise. #1 yah, it's good for you...but over-rated, #2 A good brisk walk makes you feel just as good, and your hubby can go with, it's a good time to chat about your day. #3 If you don't do it...you feel guilty, I got over that! I do what I can and be glad for that!
Depriving yourself of the things you love to eat only make things worse...you crave it more, so eat it...and use portion control. I know by looking at me people would think, what does that overweight lady know.... well I've had a life time of ups and downs in the weight department and I've learned a lot. Hope these few tips help MJ, I'm pulling for you girl. P.S. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL JUST THE WAY YOU ARE!

It is very hard to exercise when it takes away from your family time, I know just how you feel. I felt that way going to the gym when it was just Chris and I and now I can hardly bear to leave after having Audrey, time with them is so precious! It's just hard isn't it! It is quite ideal if you can do things together a bit, like a fast walk or gym together, or video workout at home together. We've done a bit of all that. I've found with all my weight loss experience too that exercise helps for sure, but eating well is so much more vital. (which is also hard to do!) I feel your pain cuzzin, it's the hardest thing in the world sometimes! Don't get stressed out about the working out, just do your best.

Thanks Brianna! I love your input, too. Coming from someone who is a momma...to someone who will be a mommy soon (relatively speaking..no I'm not pregnant, hehe.) it helps to know how hard it is for others my age. Seems like everyone I know is like "Just get out there and do it. It's so fun." I'd rather do anything else in the world...so I appreciate knowing I'm not alone. Love you!

The "fun" part comes with doing it with friends or a partner. I've found it is soooo much less work when I am doing it with others-not alone. And rewarding too. Soooo....tell Josh to do something with you a couple times a week and find a partner to go to a class or two or walk around a lake (you have so many to choose from), or whatever you choose to do. I love going to my classes and getting socially sweatty with my workout pals or calling one of my neighbors to go on a nice long walk (or my hubby). It makes the time go quickly and you don't feel the pain...cause your heart is full! So much more rewarding and fulfilling!! Good luck Meggie Loo hoo!
