Well, i haven't fully unpacked my new place yet, so i don't have any pics to show you. But i promise to have some soon. I do, i promise.

In the meantime, let me tell you about my dentist visit(s). I was on my way up to Lake of the Woods to surprise Kate for her birthday when i noticed that my right, bottom molar (#3 third from the back, #1 being my missing wisdom tooth)had chipped on the side and was basically crumbling off. According to josh it looked "SICK" and "disgusting." thanks honey. i love you, too. *rolls eyes*

Anyway...i decided that since the dentist had told me i would need a crown on that tooth someday, that maybe this was a good time to start thinking about that. (even though i know it will cost me $500+) I went to the dentist, and he was sure glad i came in. "wow, this tooth is in bad shape. good thing you got in here, it's just full of decay" i hate that word. please don't say decay in my presence. just say, it's full of bad news.

Well, he gave me the Novocaine and drilled and scraped until he was ready to put the impression gunk in there to take a mold of my tooth. Or maybe he did that before he drilled and scraped, that would make more sense. It doesn't matter, the point is, he did both. He fit me for a temporary crown and sent me on my way, asking me to come back in two weeks for the real deal.

i suffered slight pain every time i chewed on something for two weeks. whatever. pain happens. My mom would have advised to just "take some ibuprofen and wait two days. if it still hurts, then go to the doctor". let's just say, it's a good thing i never busted my leg. I'm not sure I'd be walking today.

Ok, back on track...i went into the dentist on Tuesday, this week, to get my new bling. I laid in the chair and he gave me the Novocaine again. He grabbed onto my temp crown and ask if i could feel that, as he pulled slightly. with a wince on my face and a shaky voice, i replied "uh huh," trying not to swallow the cotton gauze he had stuffed in my mouth. so he gave me another half shot of Novocaine and i was numb. awesome. He yanked the temp crown out and within 30 minutes, i had a brand new tooth. shiny, slippery, and white. It fit perfectly into place without any sanding or further alterations. It was perfect. My mouth eventually came back to life about 3 hours later. I'm happy with it. but my bank account won't be happy for long.

Here is a picture of my beautiful new molar. (molar--molar...say that word out loud. molar. it sounds funny.) I'm sorry to those of you who don't want to see the inside of my mouth, tough it out. it's life!

And, here is a picture of me in my bathroom at my new apartment, sweating, per usual. It's always hot in there. i hate sweating...thought i'd share.

Your new tooth is sexy looking. Glad you got it fixed. Sorry you sweat all the time. You can thank Gramps for them genes. He sweats like a pig. Hang in there.

LOL, that blog made me giggle. I have a matching crown like yours, just on the left side of my mouth, we're twins. I liked the pic of the inside of your mouth and the arrow pointing to the tooth. Doesn't it seem wrong that these tooth problems occur, it's like, ok we brush our teeth, we take care of ourselves, and still, decay! And the sweating, ick, my face doesn't sweat like the Erickson clan, but my back does, constantly, a wet lower back, if you wanted to know :) Love you! Miss you!

I didn't know you had this done! You didn't tell me and I just read your blog (it's Aug. 11th if you must know). I just spent the evening with you yesterday and you didn't say a word! I feel bad I didn't know about it. I would have asked. Oh well...as long as you're whole again. That's what matters. AND that you're able to eat chocolate! Hee Hee...
