Christmas time is near. It makes me happy. the other night i sat down in front of my TV and put in my Christmas DVD..my favorite childhood christmas special! Garfield's Christmas. You know, watching this as an adult, it makes me really wonder how old John Arbuckle really was...the way he acts in this episode is...juvenile. It's really weird that a grown man's parents would be telling him to go to bed, and then scolding him when he and his little brother go into their parents' room at 1am to see if they can get up to open presents yet. I saw episodes of Garfield where john went on dates with women. my assumption was always that he was a grown man in his late 20s or early 30s.

Perhaps i'm missing the point of the Christmas special...Christmas is an exciting time of year for people of all ages. I know that when i go home for Christmas, I find it super hard to sleep at night. i am always excited to get up in the morning and eat caramel rolls and open up gifts. The house always smells so good at grandma's and the memories of Christmases past flood my mind. I remember being the little ones in the family. Brianna and i always had to try not to look at one another's gifts because a lot of times, they were duplicates. (same gift, different color or picture or book..but a book nonetheless) Now that i'm an adult, i love receiving presents, yes, but i really enjoy seeing the look on the faces of those i have given a gift to...the wild excitement, the deep, heartfelt gratitude, and the love...Christmas is a time of year when we all become children at heart once more.

I guess i can see why John and Doc Boy got so excited on Christmas Eve..even though they are both grown men. Still, that being said, i don't know that i really accept how totally weird that is. Anyway...In honor of the Christmas Season, i have included a picture of my favorite scene in Garfield's Christmas...the lighting of the tree...
oooOOOOOOoooooooooooooo...

I can't believe I am commenting the little arrow thingy would'nt let me for days now I can. I also discovered that the thingy that says choose an identity had Megans name showing up and that is why my comments said Megan. I have no idea how that happened. Gramps screwed the puter somehow last week and I think I have everything back to normal except I can't get the sound on. It is not on mute. Oh well.

I have never wathced Garfield as an adult, but that is very weird that John acts like a child, because I always assumed he was an adult, like in his 30s or something. Weird.
